Awsome Arundhati!!

Finally i had the opputunity to see Arundhati today...saw it with tharak, tillu and frnds..wow! is all i can say.. it was captivating from the starting to the end keeping the audience at the edge of their seats..and undoubtedly soonu sood is the hero of this film though he had a negative role. Both anushka and soonu sood played their part well.Though the fim had scary moments it was not at all palpable in the theater...i was overwhelmed by the response the audience displayed when ever anushka took up the sword to fight it looked like she was a rudramadevi or jhansi rani...the part in which arundhati dances with a long fabric was simply superb. The film makers must have gone to great lengths to acheive such a spectacle. What was most conspicious part was the visual affects i felt they were second to none even for a hollywood film.Arundhati has raised a new bar on using visual effects in film making...not since chiranjeevi's anji did any telugu film implement graphics with such panache.I hope other telugu films will follow suit...

slumdogs dream run...

Watched slumdog millionare today...it exceeded my expectations Danny Boyle`s rags to riches story enthralled me.The scale of poverty shown in the film underscores its presence in India.I was moved when the little jamal jumps in to a pit of stool to take amitab bachan's autograph and also when one of his friends is blinded by the mafia to make him more wretched to attract potential alms. One cannot but be at the edge of one's seat to view the denoument of the film.Anil kapoors action to report him to the police was a bit unexpected....how can a host of a popular game show be so prejudiced? with the exception of above i did`nt find anything which would let me draw a more subduded assesment.Boyle certainly tried to make the film lok as indian as possible by including hindi dialouges in the beggining. As expected A. Rahman composed music for this film with dexterity i was a bit diappointed..he composed much better ones for other films like guru, jodha akbar.Any way it was a good film to watch......

60 years for the Indian Republic

Today along with millions of my fellow indians i celebrated the republic day.woke up early in the morning and watched the parade.I would`nt miss it for my life..felt a sense of pride when soldiers from various wings of the armed forces, the paramilitary and others performed the march past....also got to see various acheivements of india in technical fields. But there might be another reason why such hardware is included in the parade...first thing is to bring awareness to the general public about our strengths and preparedness. The other might be to show off military and technological prowess india has accumulated over the years.Well what ever might be the reason It was very colorful and i had fun watching it.And i would also like to watch the beating retreat which is as colorful as the parade itself..

A DEFINING MOMENT..

The swearing in of Barak Hussein Obama as the 44th president of the united states of america is a defining moment in the history of america and the world at large.Yesterdays event was a culmination of long battle fought by African Americans to claim their rightful place in the social milieu. It is a paradox that america hailed as a land of the free was prejudiced towards african americans. It was only during the civil war that the plight of blacks was brought to light.Even after Abraham Linclon abolished slavery the prejudice towards the blacks was firmly embedded in all the strata of the society.Only after african americans renewal of struggle under the leadership of martin luther king helped ameliorate the positon of blacks. The meteoric rise of barak obama from an unknown four years ago to the most powerful position in the world is indeed a special moment all the african americans would like to savour.Barak Obama promises to be different from his predecessor George Bush who was more conservative.Obama promises to give diplomacy more chances and be inclusive towards all the people of the world. After seeing the bellicose and aggressive face of America for the last eight years i for one would like to see its more benign form.

satyam scandal

Satyam computers former ceo Ramalinga raju`s shocking confessions about his fraudulent activities in the company  casts  a  shadow on the corporate governance practices of the Indian IT Industry. It brought  to light how  a person can go to fool his own shareholders and investors for his own greed. The most intresting thing in this controversy is how Mr.Ramalinga Raju got past financial auditors to boast of  fictitious profits which never existed. It is suprising that the shareholders and the companies top brass were taken for a ride. While it is too premature to jump to any conclusions as to why  Mr.Ramalinga Raju was making  mendacious statements all the time and can only hope who ever are responsible are brought to book.
